The long wait for about 6,000 Satyam freshers, who were given offer letters in 2008-09 by the tainted management of Satyam Computer Services, seems to be coming to an end. On Tuesday, Mahindra Satyam sent letters to the freshers, reviving the offers. The new management might go for a fresh screening of the candidates, before selecting some of them. “We received a letter from the Human Resources department, asking us to reply by January 11, 2010,” one of the candidates who got the letter told Business Line. “You may be aware that we have had to resort to the Virtual Pool program earlier in July 2009 as a consequence of the unexpected developments last year. We are delighted to inform that as things stabilise, we have been able to recall some of the associates from our Virtual Pool based on the ongoing business situation,” the HR Team of Mahindra Satyam said in the letter to the freshers. “We are also in the process of on-boarding some of the fresher offers that we had made in the campus in 2008/2009, as the business demand unfolds. Given that we will be recalling the associates in batches, there will be a short-listing done based on academic scores, interview performance and current preparedness,” it said. The company, however, warned that it is not going to consider responses it received after the cut-off date.
